Mirror your image in the copier's function selection screen so that any
text in your image will appear properly on your substrate. 2. Feed the Photo-Trans® SC according to the copier manufacturer's directions. If you have any questions about how to feed Photo-Trans® SC in the copier brand and model that you are using, please contact your dealer or your copier manufacturer. IMPORTANT: Photo-Trans® SC should be fed into your copier with the short dimension first (grain long). HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR IMAGE USING A COMMERCIAL HEAT PRESS (The following instructions pertain to transferring Photo-Trans® SC
to T-shirts, sweatshirts and mousepads. For instructions on how to
transfer to other substrates, please contact your dealer and a copy can
be faxed or mailed to you.) 1. Photo-Trans® SC
is intended for transfer to white and light-colored substrates
consisting of 100% cotton, cotton/poly blends, or 100% polyester
(including most mousepads). 2. Be sure to choose garments that have a tight weave. This is particularly important when transferring to sweatshirts.
Best washability is achieved when using a tight weave 50/50 T-shirt.
When using 100% cotton T-shirts, be sure the label reads "Pre-Shrunk". 3. For best results, it is important to transfer your image at the correct TIME, TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE. 4. Preheat
the heat press so that the platen is hot before transferring your first
image. Cut away any unprinted paper around your image that you do not
want to transfer. Place the garment onto the press pad and prepress for
1-2 seconds to remove any wrinkles and excess moisture. Place the
transfer on top of the garment with the image side down and press at: Manual Heat Presses: 375° F for 15 seconds, use HEAVY PRESSURE. FOR BEST RESULTS: T-shirts: Wait 5 seconds before peeling transfer. No second pressing is required. Photo-Trans® SC does not require sealing with silicone or bond paper. Important note:
Heat presses vary in accuracy. Conduct your own tests to determine the
best time and temperature to use with your own equipment. Best results
are achieved with air-powered presses. STORAGE & HANDLING of PHOTO-TRANS® SC For best results, condition Photo-Trans® SC paper in your location for 12-24 hours before running. Store Photo-Trans® SC in a cool, dry area and do not remove from carton until you are ready to use. After opening the shrink wrapped package of Photo-Trans® SC, store the paper in the re-sealable poly bag and include one of the silica gel (desiccant) packages. This will keep the paper from picking up
excess moisture on high humidity days and will remove any excess
moisture which may be present in the paper. This will not only help
improve the quality of your printed image, but will reduce copier
jamming as well. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Turn your garment inside out. This will minimize the amount
of abrasion that the transfer will encounter with other garments in the
wash. 2. Wash the garment in cold water using a mild detergent. 3. DO NOT USE BLEACH. 4. Remove the garment from the wash immediately and allow to air dry. If you are going to tumble dry, use the air only setting. By doing this over the life of the garment, you will be ensuring that your image stays clear and bright. 5. If your garment needs to be ironed, do not iron directly on the transferred area. Use a Teflon® sheet or baking parchment to cover the transfer before ironing. Note: After washing,
colors may fade slightly, particularly on 100% cotton. To restore the
colors to their original brightness, place a sheet of regular white
paper over the image and iron at low cotton setting. PHOTO-TRANS® SC IS RECOMMENDED FOR USE IN THE FOLLOWING COLOR LASER COPIERS:
*PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION
when using the CANON CLC 550 and the KODAK Color-Edge 1550+ for heat
transfer production. In these machines, it may be necessary to have the
fuser unit changed to a CANON CLC 500 or KODAK 1500 fuser section in
order to obtain consistent runability and results. IMPORTANT: We do everything possible to test each of our grades of paper on various substrates using different transfer equipment (including many different home irons). However, it is impossible for us to duplicate all variables using all substrates and transfer equipment. Therefore, it is essential that you test the paper you plan to use before beginning production, to determine the suitability of the paper when used with your equipment, methods and substrate material. Please keep in mind that the Seller's and Manufacturer's maximum obligation shall be to replace any paper that has been proven to be defective. Neither the Seller nor the Manufacturer shall be liable for any injury, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to use this paper. |
