for Color Laser Printers
USING LASER 1 OPAQUE® FOR COLOR LASER COPIERS:
With LASER 1 OPAQUE® heat transfer paper, you can transfer your photos and images to all types of dark fabrics: T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, canvas (tote bags), binders (small, medium and large), scrapbook covers, padfolios, paper (cover weight and fine art), leather, magnets, wood and nylon
Using Laser 1 Opaque Papers you will need the following:
1) A Color Laser Copier*
2) A Pre-Washed and dried Dark Colored T-Shirt
3) A Heat Press
The Print Side of the paper is the blank side (this is the coated side of the sheet).
Image the Laser 1 Opaque in your Color Laser Copier by using the most "straight line"
feed possible, (usually the by-pass tray) and using a "heavy paper" setting.
Some machines may require the "Extra Heavy Weight paper" setting.
DO NOT FLIP OR MIRROR THE IMAGE!
Caution should be taken in handling the image prior to transfer!
Before trimming make a small tear in an area to be trimmed away, and separate the paper
backing slightly into the imaged area.
(This aids greatly in separating the image after trimming)
Trim away any imprinted area that you do not want to transfer.
Pre-Press your T-Shirt for 3-5 seconds to remove any moisture and wrinkles and allow
the shirt to cool.
Peel away the paper backing and position your image with the image side up on the shirt
and cover with the pressing sheet.
Press for 20 Seconds at 325 degrees F using Medium Pressure
Remove from the Heat Press and allow to Cool Completely before attempting to remove
the Pressing Sheet.
NOTE: The Pressing sheets are Reusable several times on BOTH SIDES
Wash in cold water, dry on fine fabric or low heat setting or hang to dry.
STORAGE & HANDLING of LASER 1 OPAQUE®
For best results, condition LASER 1 OPAQUE® paper in your location for 12-24 hours before running. Store LASER 1 OPAQUE® in a cool, dry area and do not remove from carton until you are ready to use. After opening the shrink wrapped package of LASER 1 OPAQUE®, store the paper in the re-sealable poly bag and include one of the silica gel (desiccant) packages. This will keep the paper from picking up excess moisture on high humidity days and will remove any excess moisture which may be present in the paper. This will not only help improve the quality of your printed image, but will reduce copier jamming as well.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn your garment inside out. This will minimize the amount of abrasion that the transfer will encounter with other garments in the wash.
2. Wash the garment in cold water using a mild detergent.
3. DO NOT USE BLEACH.
4. Remove the garment from the wash immediately and allow to air dry. If you are going to tumble dry, use the air only setting. By doing this over the life of the garment, you will be ensuring that your image stays clear and bright.
5. If your garment needs to be ironed, do not iron directly on the transferred area. Use a Teflon® sheet or baking parchment to cover the transfer before ironing.
Note: After washing, colors may fade slightly, particularly on 100% cotton. To restore the colors to their original brightness, place a sheet of regular white paper over the image and iron at low cotton setting.
IMPORTANT: We do everything possible to test each of our grades of paper on various substrates using different transfer equipment (including many different home irons). However, it is impossible for us to duplicate all variables using all substrates and transfer equipment. Therefore, it is essential that you test the paper you plan to use before beginning production to determine the suitability of the paper when used with your equipment, methods, and substrate material. Please keep in mind that the Seller's and Manufacturer's maximum obligation shall be to replace any paper that has been proven to be defective. Neither the Seller nor the Manufacturer shall be liable for any injury, direct or consequential, arising out of the use of, or inability to use this paper.
